OJSC ENERGOPROM-Chelyabinsk Electrode Plant (EPM-CHEP)
OJSC ENERGOPROM-Chelyabinsk Electrode Plant specializes in the production of graphite electrodes, cathode blocks, blast furnace blocks, and specialty graphite.Among the main buyers are world leaders in metallurgy, space technology, machine construction, energy, and other industries in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Eastern and Western Europe, and Asia.
Chelyabinsk Electrode Plant is equipped with highly productive equipment and employs a number of unique technologies specially designed for this plant. Some of its products surpass the quality of foreign competitors.
The R&D group is constantly developing new quality improvements, introducing new technologies, and launching new products, some of which are unique.
Since 2006 CHEP began implementing an operational improvement program. As a result, the quality of finished products, the cost management system, and all production efficiency indicators were improved. The asset portfolio was restructured to concentrate on its core business.
In 2010 was taken the decision to construct an anode factory at CHEP.
The total volume of investments into the project exceeds $20 mln. The anode factory with an annual production capacity of 100k tons is expected to be put into operation in 2012.
Already this year the first 10k tons of anodes are to be produced at CHEP.
